Excel offers two swim groups to adults.
Since swimming is VERY Technique oriented, we usually recommend athletes to start at the bottom and work their way up.
The best time to start working on your stroke is late fall, early winter.
Swim Technique 101. This group is for those who learned freestyle more than 10 years ago, or not at all. Techniques have changed and they are much more efficient . We recommend most of our new athletes take this class to learn how to breathe properly and get used to swimming in a group. In the class we really focus on head position, body position, Early Vertical Forearm and reducing your drag through the water. There is usually a wide range of swimmers in the swim technique class from beginners to Ironman finishers who want to perfect their technique.
In this class we teach you to be the most efficient swimmer you can be.
The swim technique class is a three month course. The more you come to practice the more you get out of the class. We recommend trying to be at every practice since each practice is based upon the last one.
Class size is limited to 25 in order to provide feedback to every swimmer.
Classes are offered on a quarterly basis. Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall.

Year Round Swim Group:
Prerequisite - Swim Technique 101 Class or coaches permission. If you think you belong in the group, we can set up a 10 minute swim assessment before a practice, so see which group best fits you. We always want new people, but we first need to see which group best fits your needs.
This group prepares for triathlons and open water swimming competitions.
We will swim between 2000- 5000 yards/meters a practice.
Friday 5:00-6:30am
Sunday 3:15-4:45pm
See you at the pool,.
Dee and Ashley
